Burnley-based EFS Global is continuing its growth through acquisition with the purchase of Caistor Distribution for an undisclosed sum.
Caistor is based in Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire, and provides specialised logistics services including pallet distribution, general haulage and warehousing, both in the UK and internationally.
The deal follows a number of other acquisitions made by EFS in recent years including Euro SDB, 747 Express Freight, Logictrans UK Limited, RTS Refrigeration, Red Scar Tyres, Bradtrans International, CS Brunt, Horizon Distribution, Euro-Tran Despatch, JRS Traction, PDQ Specialist Courier Services and FWD Freight Services.
It is now one of the North West's largest freight and haulage groups, with 11 depots and offices across the country and operating its own UK and European road freight fleet.
Mark Jones, managing director of EFS Global, said: "Despite the challenges that coronavirus has thrown up, EFS Global has continued to look for acquisition and growth opportunities over the past few months. Caistor Distribution is a great addition to our business and will help to drive our service offering even further."
The team at Davis Blank Furniss advised EFS Global on all aspects of the transaction including legal due diligence and transactional matters. The team was led by Sonio Singh who is a partner and head of the corporate department, with support from colleagues Lauren Sever and Shiva Shadi (Employment) and Jennifer Smith (Property).
