Three companies from Lancashire have earned places on the latest annual Sunday Times PwC Profit Track 100.
The league table ranks Britain’s privately-owned companies with the fastest-growing profits over the last three years of available audited accounts, and is published this weekend.
Jacobson footwear, a new entry on the list, ranks highest at 20th over all. The Rossendale-based company's brands include Gola, Lonsdale, Lotus and Dunlop. Its profits of £5.4m represent an increase oif 85.5% over three years.
Preston's Amber Taverns, which operates 82 pubs across the north and the Midlands, ranked 56th and Blackburn's Accrol Papers, with profits of more than £8m, made the list at 71.
They feature on the league table alongside companies from around the UK, including well-known brands such as construction equipment manufacturer JCB, shoemaker Dr Martens, Wellington boot retailer Hunter Boot, and sandwich shop operator Pret A Manger.
The Profit Track 100 is sponsored by PwC, Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking and UBS Wealth Management. It is compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events company.
