Wyre's best builders have been honoured in an annual award ceremony.
The Building Excellence accolades, sponsored by Builders Supplies (West Coast) Ltd, reward construction companies who have achieved consistently high standards of work.Winners were chosen by a panel of Wyre Council officers and councillors from a list put forward by building control officers who have overseen all aspects of the projects from start to finish.
To be nominated for an award, developers have to go much further than simply meeting Building Regulations. They need to demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to quality, as well as excellent customer care.This year's winners are: Conlon Construction Ltd, Bamber Bridge, for Charles Saer School in Fleetwood JTH Construction Limited, Longridge, for new houses at Westfield Court in Catterall Kingswood Homes (North West Ltd), Thornton, for a new house on Hardhorn Road in Poulton GST Developments (NW) Ltd, Cleveleys, for extensions and alterations to a house on Blackpool Old Road in Poulton Highly commended: Simmons Construction, Thornton Cleveleys, for extension and refurbishment at Thornton Cleveleys Cricket Club Garry Payne, chief executive at Wyre Council, said: "We are very proud and pleased that the awards have achieved considerable success in both recognising and promoting quality in the local building industry. They are awards for excellence and it is a great pleasure to honour all the winners."
All the winners have been put forward to the regional Building Excellence Awards organised by Local Authority Building Control (LABC) North West, which will be held on 4 April 2014 at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
