Woodcocks Haworth & Nuttall to create commercial hub in Blackburn

Lancashire legal firm Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall is planning to turn its Blackburn office into a thriving commercial law hub building on its expert range of specialisms.

The recently-merged firm, with seven offices and fourteen partners, created one of the region’s largest legal practices, with David McCann at the helm as senior partner.

The company will be expanding its commercial law department, with specialist David McCann spearheading the project.

David will make the move from Woodcocks’ Bury office to Blackburn and hopes to transform the newly enlarged firm into one of the heavyweights in the field.

He said: “My relocation to Blackburn forms the first phase of development for the merged business. We have a number of solicitors with specific expertise that will benefit the region’s businesses.

“As part of our business plan we are looking to expand the business so we can continue to offer the first class professional service that we provide to a wider range of individuals and businesses.

“Both Woodcocks and Haworth and Nuttall are well-respected names, with excellent reputations and pedigrees in the region. Together we are a firm with a strong team of specialist commercial law experts.”

Haworth and Nuttall dates back to 1877 and has offices in Blackburn, Accrington and Great Harwood, while Woodcocks can trace it roots back to 1791 and has a long established presence in Bury and Rossendale (Haslingden, Rawtenstall and Bacup).

David McCann joined Woodcocks in 1991 and has played a major part in establishing Woodcocks’ Commercial team as one of the region’s leaders. It specialises in company disputes, employment law, insolvency, intellectual property rights, commercial property and buying and selling businesses.
