What More UK, the Lancashire housewares manufacturer, and owner of the well-known brand Wham, has an impressive list of 76 export countries, and regularly showcases new products at Ambiente in Frankfurt, and The Inspired Home Show in Chicago.
Everything they produce is Made in Britain - from their base in East Lancashire.
In-house toolmaking is one of the key production strengths of What More, which helps with innovation, as well as production and quality control. They ensure they are at the forefront with their skill base, by employing highly trained apprentices to keep more traditional skills within the workforce, and also acquiring a local toolmaking business to give them extra capacity in this key area.
What More also recently acquired Firsteel Limited, a producer of pre finished metal. This again gives them more control of the supply chain they require, and ensures the quality of their production materials. PushPan® products were also brought into in house production, and What More can now proudly say all PushPan® products are Made in Britain. This is resonating with overseas markets who appreciate the skill and quality of their manufacturing, and has led to a strong performance in export - across all areas of the business including plastics.
What More UK director Tony Grimshaw has always valued attending Ambiente and Chicago exhibitions, as they are a major platform for global trends and key to meeting export contacts. He said: "As a company we've always been strong in the export market, and it's grown from strength to strength over the years. Attending the trade shows it's like meeting old friends, we've got such a great relationship with our overseas customers.
"Being Made in Britain is something we're really proud of, and it's great to see that our customers, and their customers, also enjoy and value the quality and care we put into every item that goes out of our production facility. And all this from East Lancashire - right across the world!"
