At Bespoke we use the term “performance website” to differentiate between standard B2B websites, and the select few that hoover up the majority of visibility and enquiries in their region and/or sector.
Our team has been building performance websites for Lancashire businesses since 2001. But we recently did some new work to understand the difference with more clarity.
We concluded that when compared to a competitor website, or any previous website the business may have had, a performance website should:
- Rank better in Google for priority keywords
- Generate more high quality traffic
- Converts visitors to enquiries at a higher rate
- Achieve more visibility and enquiries
- Have a faster, more reliable, easier-to-use CMS
- Use more future proof, secure and slick tech
- Look obviously handcrafted
So we are not Squarespace, WordPress, template-based, or websites designed without extensive research or data.
These are characteristics of the majority of websites that perform less.
The kicker is that the performance website works to its full potential when it’s built on a solid digital strategy, and when it is supported by laser-targeted digital marketing campaigns.
So the food for thought is: does your business have a performance website?
And if you switched, embraced the performance website model, and began dominating your field online, what would be the impact financially for your company over the next five years?
