Fagan and Whalley achieved two AA+ BRCGS ratings in an unannounced audit

We are excited to share that our Frontier Park and Burnley Bridge depots recently earned an outstanding AA+ rating during an unannounced visit as part of our annual BRCGS Storage and Distribution audit.

This recognition was awarded by the Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards (BRCGS).

While we have proudly maintained an AA rating at both sites for the past two years, the unannounced audit presented a new challenge – one we are particularly proud to have met with such success.

What is an unannounced BRCGS audit?

An unannounced audit is exactly what the name implies: an auditor from the BRCGS arrives at our sites without prior notice, and within thirty minutes, they must begin their inspection on the shop floor.

Our warehousing team immediately rose to the occasion, demonstrating the exceptional efforts we put into ensuring our operations consistently meet the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

The outcome? An impressive AA+ rating – the highest possible certification from the BRCGS – validating our unwavering commitment to excellence in food safety, hygiene, and operational standards across all our facilities.

What do the AA+ BRCGS ratings mean for us?

It’s incredibly reassuring to know that our clients and their customers can continue to trust us to handle their products with the utmost care and attention.

This AA+ BRCGS certification is incredibly special to us, as it reflects the dedication and hard work our team puts into ensuring that our warehousing and distribution circuits meet the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

What is the BRCGS?

For those unfamiliar, the BRCGS (formerly the British Retail Consortium) sets international standards for food safety, used by over 26,000 suppliers in 130 countries.

These standards ensure that we meet regulatory requirements for the safe storage and distribution of food products, preventing cross-contamination and safeguarding the end consumer.
