Westholme School in Blackburn has announced that Dr Richard Robson will take over as principal in January 2021.
He replaces Lynne Horner, who has held the role for seven years.
Richard was previously the headmaster of two independent schools, St. Bede’s in Manchester and Woodbridge in Suffolk. He has worked as an inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate for more than ten years, serving on national committees and completing a Doctorate in Education.
Brian Marsden, chairman of the governors, said: "Dr Robson is an outstanding educational leader who is perfectly qualified to build on Mrs Horner’s success at Westholme. He has enjoyed a highly impressive educational career to date and his youth belies his extensive experience and distinguished reputation in the sector.
"We are thrilled he has chosen to return to the North, where he has family roots, to lead our school into the exciting next chapter. As we approach our centenary, we are all keen to see Westholme continue to evolve, adapt and thrive. We have every confidence that Dr Robson is precisely the person to do this."
