As I’m writing this, there’s a real sense that 2021 is drawing to a close.
The nights are drawing in; the trees are shedding their leaves – and Christmas decorations are appearing in the shops!
As we prepare to turn the page on another year impacted by Covid, there’s lots to look forward to in 2022. A fresh beginning, renewed energy and a sense of putting the past behind us.
This is the time of year that plans traditionally start to pick up speed for our Themis Apprenticeship Careers Event at the end of January. It’s one of the highlights of the year for me.
Seeing our amazing campus buzzing with the next generation of apprentices – many suited and booted and with CVs to hand out – and representatives from the region’s top showcasing the amazing work that makes them industry leaders and looking out for next top recruit.
There was no in-person Themis Apprenticeship Careers Event in 2021. Covid led us to make the heart-wrenching (but correct) decision to switch the event online.
But there’s nothing like our live, in-person event. Apprentices are the rocket fuel of industry and that’s tangible, you can feel it in the air when we’re together.
That’s why, in 2022, we’ll be back in person – bigger and better than ever. Creating that spark that could lead to something big – when a potential apprentice has that moment of clarity on their career route and sets out on a journey to reach the stars; when an employer comes face to face with that individual who will transform their business in the years to come.
It’s going to be an amazing event. In an amazing year for apprenticeships in 2022 at Themis at Burnley College. Something big is on the horizon and I can’t wait to share the news with you soon.
Until then – make a date in your diary, Wednesday, January 26, from 5pm at Burnley College. Themis Apprenticeship Careers Event 2022. Talk to me about how you can get involved and talk up apprenticeships in 2022. It’s the year when great things will happen.
