Thousands of homeowners have already benefited from the life-changing Cosy Homes Lancashire (CHIL) scheme helping some of the county's most vulnerable people stay warm and well all year round.
‘Cosy Homes’ aims to to reach all those with health issues made worse by the cold and their staff are working in connection with local installers to help homeowners retain warmth while saving money on their energy bills. The countywide energy efficiency and affordable warmth initiative has benefitted from the support of local business owners and authorities who have contributed in total £4,000 to the organisation's staffing, marketing and administrations costs.
Commenting on behalf of all of those who contributed to the success of the scheme, Communications Energy Coordinator, Christine Smith said: “I would like to acknowledge the local authorities who have invested both time and money into this remarkable initiative.”“Without their support and funding we could not have reached out to the number of Lancashire residents who desperately needed our help,” she added. The generous funding available for CHIL is now over £6m and if utilised to it’s full potential, the outcome of the scheme will be a significant reduction in energy bills and a dip in cold-related illness and hospital visits in Lancashire.
