Blackburn-based Vision Techniques was appointed to install dashcams in 45 vehicles on behalf of WH Malcolm.
The Malcolm Group, which specialises in logistics, construction and maintenance services across the UK. With three core divisions, the company now has 2,000 employees working across 16 sites and operating more than 500 vehicles and 1,200 trailers.
The dash cameras are an effective way to collect evidence in the event of a collision. The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) estimates that 'crash for cash' schemes cost around £340m every year in payout, increased insurance premiums, vehicle downtime, repair costs, driver safety and business reputation.
To help combat this, Vision Techniques has provided the VT Vuew, which features 4G connectivity and a full 1080HD image with the latest Sony STARVIS technology to give a clear image, even in low lighting.
The technology stores this information on the internally secured SD card to avoid any tampering. The system can also be paired to use with VT Recording systems and VT Connect platform.
Robert Snodgrass, business support for WH Malcolm, said: "Unfortunately, we've seen a large rise in accidents and need to eliminate risk wherever possible.
"Our priority is to ensure we are creating a safe environment for our employees to work in and that our vehicles are the safest they can be for the public, and these products help us do that as well as eliminating false claims."
