Bodycare has doubled the size of its store in Poulton-le-Fylde in Lancashire.
The national retailer, which has 130 stores across the UK, has taken four units in the newly refurbished Teanlowe Shopping Centre, which is being redeveloped as part of a scheme by Lancashire supermarket chain Booths to build its own new store in the town. The Poulton Bodycare store previously occupied two units before making a temporary move within the centre during renovation. It has returned to its original home in the main parade and taken two neighbouring units on a 10-year lease, doubling in size to 2,600 sq ft.
The deal was secured by Joe Assalone from Robert Pinkus surveyors with legal work undertaken by Malcolm Glynn, head of commercial property at Vincents Solicitors. The Poulton deal comes hot on the heels of the opening of the new Blackpool store in the Hounds Hill Centre, following the agreement of a 10-year lease there.Malcolm said: “We’re pleased to have worked on a lease which not only allows Bodycare to remain in Poulton after the shopping centre’s redevelopment, but to expand. This was one of the company’s first ever stores and has a strong and loyal customer base in Poulton.”
Founded in 1970 by Graham and Margaret Blackledge, the company has 130 stores and 1,600 employees. Vincents has acted for the company since 2012. Bodycare director Daniel Blackledge: “We’ve always been committed to the Poulton store and so are delighted that the new arrangement will allow us to double the size of the sales area and provide customers with an improved shopping environment.”Enjoyed this?
