Lancashire firms will receive top tips on how they can use Twitter to grow their businesses at a special forum next month.
Social media guru Amanda Jackson, managing director of Tigerfish PR, will lead a session at the event entitled ‘Why Twitter is good for Business’.
The forum has been organised by Community and Business Partners, in conjunction with Blackburn College, and is aimed at private sector employers across Lancashire.
Amanda said: “Twitter has been around for five years now but many people are still under the impression it’s a channel for celebrities to talk about what they had for breakfast.
“However, a growing number of business people are beginning to realise it’s also a great way for them to engage with their target audience.
“I plan to outline a few ways in which twitter can benefit your business. In essence, twitter is networking in its truest sense.
“I like to think of it as three concentric circles, which are customer service, market research and PR.”
Amin Vepari of Community and Business Partners, said: “We recently revamped our Employers’ Forums and the aim is to bring employers across Lancashire up to speed with developments that will have an impact on them.
“It will give them a chance to question the decision makers at first hand and become involved in initiatives and developments that create opportunities and business growth.”
