Trident Utilities has been named as the new energy partner for Lancashire Business View’s Red Rose Awards.
The awards, now in its 15th year, will be held at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on March 13 and is a celebration of business across the county.
The Blackpool based energy and net zero consultants won the ‘customer service’ award last year.
Michael Dugdale, managing director of Trident, said: “The Red Rose Awards and Lancashire Business View provides Trident with a platform to communicate and amplify the importance of sustainability and the benefits of net zero to Lancashire businesses.
“There are many benefits to the businesses that focus on net zero, including reduced energy costs, improved profitability, attracting the best talent and it can help bring investment into your organisation.
“The facts point to rising earth temperature and more extreme weather. We are losing various plantations, critical species and sustainable food sources are being lost.
“As business leaders we have a role to play in fighting climate change and that means lowering carbon emissions for the benefit of the planet.
“We must do something, and every step taken to turn intent into action on reducing emissions will help. We want to speak to educational facilities and business leaders to see if we can help and get involved in wider conversations on net zero.”
Last year, Trident was a dinner sponsor and came up with an innovative way to offset people’s travel arrangements to get to Blackpool for the event which equated to seven tonnes of carbon.
Working with the Ribble Rivers Trust, Trident planted trees and then, for every winner, they planted another tree at Blue Slate Farm in Samlesbury.
Joanne Hindley, sales director of Lancashire Business View, said: “We have been working with Trident Utilities for several years across various projects within the magazine and our events, including our Net Zero Carbon conferences and Lancashire Business Day.
“Together we created the bespoke Red Rose Awards Energy Partnership package this year to provide a unique opportunity for Trident to really showcase their services and help Lancashire businesses with their decarbonisation journey.”
