The annual Trevor Dawson Charity Golf Day was back for 2023 raising funds for the Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone, a fantastic charity changing young lives in the Lancashire area.
Twenty-one teams enjoyed uninterrupted sunshine at Clitheroe Golf Club with the course in excellent condition providing a great day of golf. The overall, and returning winners were K2 Storage Solutions with 94 points following a card play-off with Thwaites. 3rd place was taken by Handelsbanken.
Following the golf, drinks were enjoyed on the patio followed by dinner, the prize presentation and raffle. A magnificent £7,000 was raised and Wayne Wild, a trustee of Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone iterated the importance of continuing to raise funds.
Wayne Wild, trustee of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, said: “We appreciate Trevor Dawson raising funds on an annual basis for Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, and grateful for all the businesses who contributed to raising an incredible £7,000. This generous support is vital in continuing to change the lives of young people in the borough. Let us remember the importance of ongoing fundraising efforts to make a lasting impact. Thank you to all who participated and showed their generosity."
Caroline James, managing director of Trevor Dawson, commented: “We are delighted to support the Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone again this year and, with a record number of teams are able to donate the highest figure raised to date of £7,000 for this worthy cause. Thank you to all who participated and their generosity on the day, and also to Mel and Wayne for their support.”
