An Ormskirk-based training provider has been awarded its first two contracts to deliver apprenticeship training throughout Lancashire and Merseyside.
Holt Green Training was established in 2009 by parent company - Holt Green Residential Homes. The company originally delivered training requirements for staff within its care home, but soon expanded to offer specific training for other local care providers.Four years on, the company has received funding from two national providers to deliver apprenticeships for over 200 learners aged between 16 and 24.
Meeting stringent requirements, Holt Green Apprenticeships now offer courses in health and social care, customer service, business admin, team leading and management, IT, early years and for teaching assistants in schools.Training manager, Nicola Parr said: “We are delighted to have been awarded these contracts, Apprenticeships are something we as a company feel very passionate about. Companies are increasingly looking to employ candidates with work experience, and with tuition fees constantly rising young people are opting to earn a salary whilst training for their chosen career. Apprenticeships offer the perfect solution.”
Recent research published by the Office for National Statistics, shows nearly half of graduates are working in a job that’s not right for the degree they studied. Nicola added: “Whilst the degree route is right for some jobs, depending on your chosen career, apprenticeships can offer the best solution for the candidate and employer."Enjoyed this?
