Clitheroe-based catering wholesaler Total Foodservice has been honoured for its rigorous approach to health and safety at the International Safety Awards 2013.
The firm took home the prestigious company award – a recognition of a proven commitment to workplace health and safety – and Total Foodservice’s health and safety representative Radoslaw Kozlowski was also awarded the individual title of International Health and Safety Champion.
He has succeeded in developing a nearly hazard-free working environment by focusing on a number of safety features, including bailer checks, pallet truck checks and plant checks.
Radoslaw’s manager Paul Nowell, operations director at Total Foodservice, said: “Radoslaw constantly shows complete dedication to not only executing and promoting the stringent health and safety regulations the company has in place, but also suggesting sensible amendments to those policies and managing the change throughout the business." Total Foodservice’s managing director, Simon Howarth, said: “To be able to say we are an international leader in health and safety will also give our clients further confidence in our products and services. It’s a truly remarkable achievement and I’d like to thank the whole team, including Radoslaw, for their efforts.”
