The team at Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors have strengthened their team following the qualification of another of their Surveyors. Dominic Brown, who joined Lea Hough in 2020 after having started his APC training process with another firm of Chartered Surveyors, has now achieved MRICS Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Dominic’s qualification follows a rigorous training process with Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors via their RICS approved Structured Training Plan.
Gareth Clarke, Thomas Sutton, James Leech are amongst the surveyors now practicing with Chartered Status. A further member of the team, James Roberts, has also recently attained AssocRICS and RICS Registered Valuer status with the RICS.
Lea Hough’s team now consists of 11 Chartered Surveyors, the highest number of Surveyors holding the Chartered status the firm has ever had.
Paul Dignan comments: “Lea Hough now has a very strong track record of “growing our own” and developing graduates into fully qualified Chartered Surveyors. We are delighted for Dominic – his hard work has certainly paid off as passing the APC at the first attempt is by no means an easy feat.
“Whilst some aspiring surveyors have joined the firm upon qualification, following the firm’s training programme from the start, this isn’t the only route available. On occasion, graduates may join other firms and discover that they are not receiving the support or experience they require to be successful in their career progression. Lea Hough have taken on a number of their now Chartered Surveyors in this way, providing the required experience and support to enable preparation for the rigorous assessment process.
“Whatever stage aspiring Surveyors join us at, we are able to provide a wide and varied experience and appropriate supervision/guidance to enable them to go forward for their qualification. With a growing number of our team now having gone through our training process, advice is on hand at every stage. Our more senior Surveyors also assist with Supervisor’s APC Review Meetings, reviews of Critical Analysis and documentation prior to submission to the RICS, and carrying out mock APC interviews in preparation for the APC Final Assessment.
“Our practice is continuing to grow and we would encourage any aspiring Chartered Surveyor who does not feel that they are getting the right support and experience with their current employer, to contact us for a confidential discussion.”
Lea Hough is now one of Lancashire’s largest independent Chartered Surveying practices, providing a wide range of Chartered Surveying Services, alongside property consultancy, to residential and commercial clients. The firm also has specialisms in the education and land/development sectors, with building consultancy and funding advice for the region’s schools and a specialist consultancy for landowners that have been approached by developers.
