Since our inception as a video production company way back in 2005, there has been one consistent business ‘challenge’ that we have helped companies tackle and that has been recruitment.
More specifically, the need for businesses to attract, retain and motivate the best people in the business.
Video is the perfect, effective and increasingly expected tool for giving new recruits an honest, engaging and credible look into a business and, vitally, what the role on offer may involve.
It’s proven to deliver high-quality, relevant candidates through to an interview stage.
But the key word here is ‘honest’.
Using stock imagery of American office hot-shots with perma-tans and perfect teeth with the message ‘come and join our team’ when you are an engineering firm in Burnley (or a video production company in Ramsbottom for that matter) will not send out the right signals.
Instead you will have people asking, ‘What are they trying to hide?’
So be sincere, honest, and reflective of the role and environment you are recruiting into, and video will work wonders for you.
We also find that spoken content from peers is far more effective than top-down messages.
In other words, recruit for telesales positions by including established telesales staff who are thriving in that role, rather than from managers saying how great the job is.
Again, being authentic and open with your content will absolutely work wonders for your organisation’s recruitment process.
