Lancashire law firm Farleys Solicitors is heading across the border to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge and it’s all in the name of charity.
A team of 12 colleagues from across the firm’s Abuse and Inquests, Family, Corporate and Commercial departments will be heading up the three peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough on Saturday 5th October in a bid to raise funds for the charity INQUEST.
Farleys’ inquest team has a great deal of experience working alongside the charity in supporting bereaved families through the inquest process. INQUEST rely solely on grants and donations in order to continue their vital work which sees them contacted by around 700 families every year.
The Farleys team taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge will be Kelly Darlington, Alice Wood, David Corrigan and Cliona Carey from the inquest department, solicitors Leah Whitehead, Amy Duncan and Amy Jones, litigation executive Freya Aughton, and chartered legal executive Emma Proctor. Some of our younger trainee solicitors Megan Billington, Eve Abdel-Moneim, and Stevie Kelly will also be participating.
Kelly and Alice commented: “Through our work with bereaved families, we regularly encounter the fantastic team at INQUEST and have seen first hand the vital work they do in supporting families going through what is a very challenging, overwhelming and stressful process. This charity challenge is our way of giving back; to provide thanks for all the invaluable work they do and hopefully fund further support and resources for bereaved families in future.
“Thank you to everyone who has offered their support so far. We’re aiming to complete the triple climb, which is 2,153 metres in total, in under 11 hours. A very optimistic a goal but knowing we’re raising funds for a vital cause will spur us on!”
If you’d like to donate to the team’s fundraising efforts, you can do so through their JustGiving page here.
