Recycling Lives founder Steven Jackson has spoken about his passion for the “fourth sector” and his belief that businesses like his that add value to their communities should be better rewarded.
He says: “If business can show that 20 per cent of their earnings are genuinely benefitting the community I’d like to see them get a reduction in corporation tax to say 10 per cent.
“I’d like to see a system where the government genuinely acknowledges businesses that create social value.”
Steven adds: “There is a real opportunity to develop the fourth sector and to reward business for the social contribution they make. We need to say to businesses that if their business grows their social impact has to grow.”
