We have been working tirelessly for the past three years developing our small family business to undertake the concept of a more sustainable workspace for businesses across Lancashire by providing new sustainable office furniture, upcycled office furniture, asset recovery services and ethical disposal.
What do we mean by sustainable workspace?
We are making it our priority to source quality UK manufactured office furniture that is made using sustainable traceable materials. There is a whole lot of office furniture available on the market but a good percentage of it isn’t made to last unfortunately. That’s where we come in, through close partnerships with industry leaders we can provide you with quality sustainable office furniture that can be upcycled and reused many more years after it is originally purchased.
What does this mean for future businesses?
Businesses are becoming savvier with the term circular economy and asset recovery but it’s still very much a grey area due to critics assuming reuse is tacky and is only aimed at the lower end of the market but we are now seeing organisations such as NHS, Tesco and Sky utilising reuse and asset recovery rather than going straight to purchasing new which is a huge plus for the industry.
What happens with the waste office furniture?
We provide a national ethical disposal service to large organisations but that’s still not enough! "WasteDataFlow" announced over 600,000 tonnes of furniture gets thrown away each year in the UK alone! It is very clear to us more needs to be done. We operate from a 2-acre upcycling facility in Forton, Lancashire. Our facility houses woodworking workshops, upholstery workshops, offices, showrooms and warehousing.
Our mission over the next 5 years is to really highlight the importance of reuse within commercial workspaces nationwide while at the same time providing new sustainable office furniture that guarantees reuse in the future.
Please feel free to check us out online via our website thecoggingroup.com or by all means come and visit us in Forton so we can show you around and explain in the little more detail what we do and why.
