Sundown Solutions, the tech consultancy based in Accrington, went one step further with their Christmas Party Extravaganza this year, by inviting international band Toploader to perform at their black tie dinner. Toploader have over two million album sales and several top 20 hits, and arrived hot off the heels from performing before the England game at the World Cup in Qatar.
The black tie event, held in the fabulous surroundings of Accrington Stanley’s £2.5m hospitality suite the 1968 Lounge, was a celebration of another stellar year for the rapidly growing company, and a chance for some of them to meet for the first time in person. A champagne reception was followed by a three course dinner and a raffle with proceeds going to Accrington Stanley Women FC, then casino tables were there to enjoy followed by the surprise concert by Toploader.
An important part of the evening was their Oscars themed annual awards ceremony, hosted by award winning tech magazine editor Chris Maguire and awards handed out by the CEO and Managing Partners. They included a special mention for Best Newcomer Bruno GuindaVa, who has only been with the company 9 months and has been a fantastic addition, with managers saying that in that time, he has provided invaluable help and in-depth insight across a multitude of projects and customers.
Tom Meadon was awarded Greatest Impact Of The Year 2022, rising from a Tier 3 position to becoming the new CTO, all in less than a calendar year. The Sundown Sundowner of the Year was awarded to Adam Kyriacou – for the second time, for his outstanding performance, personal growth and positive attitude. He also received a holiday to Portugal.
Other winners on the night were Kelly Barratt, Geraldas Rudokas, Sophie Smith, Connor Johnston, Ryan Salanti, the NAO team, Michelle Mageean, Michael Janicki, and Gary Smith for all their contributions to another successful year. CEO Heath Groves was also presented with a surprise special award for CEO excellence, Leader of the Year.
Heath Groves commented: “What an incredible night, and there is so much talent in the room. It’s great to be able to recognise people for their outstanding contributions, and to bring everyone together – we have grown from 12 employees to 73 in the last two years, and every person in this room has played a part. We need 70 more staff to support our plans – but we still have a real family feel.
"Toploader gave an amazing performance, and were the highlight of an incredible night of celebration!”
