Locally-based international high tech software solutions consultancy, Sundown Solutions is to partner with North Lancs Training Group to provide paid internship opportunities for local people to develop a career in IT.
The internships, which start as IT support technicians then progress through fast track training in just one year, will then become two Mobile Device Management and Modern Workplace Support Technicians, and a SQL/Data Science/Power Platform Technician.
Even if you don't know what that means - if you want to break into IT and software as a career, this is the ideal opportunity. The internships are for any age, and Sundown Solutions pride themselves on their person focussed recruitment - the key aspects they are looking for are not based on technical ability, but rather on determination, dedication, and willingness to learn.
The paid internships have a starting salary of £16,000 pa and candidates will be enrolled into an intensive fast track training programme paid for by Sundown Solutions, which will provide the interns with everything they need to progress very quickly in the IT and developer world.
After passing their probation periods, the salary increases to £17,000 pa after the first month. The interns will then be given an additional year to complete four Microsoft qualifications. On passing each exam they will receive a performance-related pay raise of £2,000 per exam, bringing them up to £24,000 at the end of the first year.
They'll then become part of Sundown Solution's highly skilled staff, and the earnings potential is huge.
Sundown Solutions' chief executive officer, Heath Groves, said: "These are absolutely superb opportunities, and we will need yet another three by Christmas, we are growing very rapidly. Just looking at the gaming industry, it's bigger than both the movie and sports industry put together, making £180 billion a year. You don't have to be a ‘techie' to make a start here. Every day people are gaming and on their smartphones. The composite skills that make you very good on these devices, are the exact skills we need for when you are working.
"We need people who have the drive to want to take this chance and complete our intensive training. Age isn't important - Gary Smith, our fulfilment manager, was still a kickboxing instructor at 39, and at 45 he's been through our internship programme and also qualified with ILM. Connor Johnston, one of our apprentices, is now head of product group at just 23.
"We were put in touch with Gareth at NLTG through the Amazing Accrington business leaders group, and we have a company policy of buying local and giving back to our local community, including offering these exciting jobs to local people. NLTG will be great partners in helping us find the right people."
Gareth Lindsay, MD of NLTG, added: "These are very impressive opportunities and we are delighted to be working with Sundown, to offer these amazing career paths right here in Hyndburn.
"Successful applicants will join a company that will look after and develop them, and will give them the skills and training to progress even further in the future. This is a fantastic chance for the right people!"
