Studio, the Accrington based online value retailer, brought the Easter cheer to Accrington Stanley’s WHAM Stadium on Good Friday, handing out over 300 Easter eggs to under 12’s attending Stanley’s home game with Burton Albion.
As sponsors of the Eric Whalley family stand, Studio invited all children who received a brand new Accrington Stanley shirt at October’s big shirt giveaway, with Studio sponsoring the shirt sleeves, back to the WHAM Stadium, this time to receive a free egg.
The children were encouraged to wear their shirts to the Easter Egg giveaway, making them feel an integral part of the match, watching live football and wearing their shirts with pride.
Ahead of the League One clash, which attracted a bumper Good Friday crowd of 2,513, both the Studio team and a very special guest, the Studio Easter Bunny, handed out the eggs to a very busy and excited crowd of children, from both Stanley and visitors Burton Albion.
Collette King, HR manager at Studio Retail Ltd, said: “What a wonderful day it has been – to see so many children wearing their Accrington Stanley shirts was a sight to behold.
“As sponsors of the Eric Whalley family stand, we are eager to give back to our young people and by handing out these Easter eggs, we hope we have provided a bit of Easter cheer to the children of Hyndburn.”
Jimmy Bell, assistant manager at Accrington Stanley, added: “It was absolutely fantastic to see all the children receiving their Easter eggs and we can’t thank Studio enough for their kind contribution.
“The eggs were distributed to children from both Accrington Stanley and Burton Albion, and it has been great to see so many happy, smiley faces here today at The WHAM Stadium.”
