Students from Blackburn College’s health and social care courses enjoyed careers insights from the sector’s top employers in Lancashire.
The learners completed activities and discussed potential job pathways including nursing with the guest speakers. The college was delighted to welcome Samantha Sherrington, head of community nursing, Joanne Hartley RGN BSc (Hons) Public Health, assistant matron for district nursing, and Rebecca Stanworth, practice based educator for community and intermediate care provision.
The college was also thrilled to welcome Carole McCann who is divisional director of nursing at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Carole is also on secondment to the Covid-19 Vaccination Programme leading across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Blackburn College tutor Kimberley Wells said: “This was such a fantastic opportunity for our learners to discover working opportunities and receive precious and valuable advice from industry specialists. I would like to personally thank Samantha, Jane and Carole for giving up some of their time to share their experiences and tips with our students.”
