Turns out you can do good while doing good business. We've made it official by signing the Lancashire Skills Pledge - our promise to help build a proper brilliant future for our county. We've committed to seven out of nine pledges already.
Not because someone told us to, but because it's just what you do when you give a damn about where you're from.
We are one of 265 businesses in Lancashire who have done so. That’s out of 55000. We are on a mission to get the word out that it’s good to pledge.
What's that mean in real talk? We've got young talent from Blackburn College getting stuck in with real client work on a T-Level placement. We're in local schools showing kids that creativity pays the bills. And we're helping care leavers like Angel turn their dreams into actual careers.
Speaking of Angel - she's currently making waves documenting life at Galloway's, showing what it's really like living with sight loss in Lancashire. That's the kind of meaningful stuff we're after. She gets portfolio gold, Galloway's gets their story told, and Lancashire gets stronger. Winner.
The Skills Pledge has got us promising to:
- Get young people ready for proper work (not just making brews)
- Share what we know with local schools
- Give real work experience (none of that photocopying rubbish)
- Back Lancashire's care leavers
- Hire local legends
- Keep our crew learning
Why? Because Lancashire's got talent coming out of its ears - sometimes they just need a leg up. And that's where we come in. We’re baking our own pie not asking for a slice of anyone else’s - just like Mo Isap said. Want to know more about what we're up to? Drop us a line but better yet, sign up for the Lancashire Skills Pledge yourself here.
We're StopPress. We help Lancashire businesses find and tell their stories. No faff, no jargon, just honest help from people who get it.
