Speakman's lands six-figure leisure centres deal

One of the region’s top suppliers of electrical engineers, plumbers, and installers, is toasting a twin success, having been awarded a £250,000 contract for the refurbishment of two leisure centres in Pendle.

Burnley-based Speakman Contractors has started work on refurbishing Westcraven Sports Centre in Barnoldswick, and Colne Leisure Centre, through the provision of high quality new changing room and washing facilities.

Chris Speakman, Director of Speakman's which is also part of the successful Burnley Bondholder scheme, said: “We directly employ a skilled workforce in all sectors of refurbishment. This means we can understand clients’ needs at every stage and in detail; it means we can add value, pass on thoughts and ideas based upon experience and expertise; it means we can control the quality of finish, on time, and to an exceptional standard.” The contract is part of a £420,000 investment by Pendle Leisure Trust and is expected to be complete by May 2013.
