On 6 March, Pink Link will bring together female entrepreneurs from across the North West to celebrate International Women’s Day at a business conference in Blackpool.

This year’s IWD theme, #EachforEqual, is a call to accelerate gender balance; Equality is not a women's issue, it's a business issue. Backed by the UN, women across the world will be seizing the moment to collectively call for action to transform lives.

Sponsored by the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund which is delivered by British Business Bank, the event will empower, support and promote female entrepreneurship. The event will combine networking, masterclasses from Boost Lancashire and The Small Business Academy, exhibitor stands and inspirational speakers. There will be plenty of opportunities for women to make new connections, gain valuable business knowledge and advice, and generate leads.

Sue Barnard, Senior Manager at the British Business Bank: “We are delighted to be supporting this event, highlighting women in business across Lancashire and the key role they play throughout the region.  The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund has already invested over £10million to Lancashire business, but we are keen that NPIF is available to more entrepreneurs across Lancashire, particularly female led businesses across the North.”

Attendees will be able to find out about how to scale up their business, gain insight into the funding and resources available and discover the five expert marketing hacks which will immediately improve their online presence.

During the afternoon, two fantastic female speakers will address the audience. Karina Jadhav and Maura Jackson. Karina is the North West’s youngest independent female restaurant owner. Founder of the vibrant Menagerie Restaurant Bar in Manchester and co-founder and creator of several bars which are favourites with celebrities, she will be sharing her journey in a male dominated industry with a large shot of glitz and glamour. Maura won the Inspirational Woman of the Year Award of the 2019 Enterprise Vision Awards and is CEO of BACKUP NW. By applying business acumen to the charity, she has increased their annual turnover to £2.8m whilst retaining their core values. Her talk about work, weight and love will combine laughter and tears.

Coral Horn, founder of Pink Link said “International Women’s Day will be an energised day for like-minded women to share ideas, discuss collaborations and be inspired! We only have a limited number of tickets available so if you would like to be involved, get in touch now.”

Later in the afternoon, the Blackpool Rock Gin company will hold a masterclass with a bespoke cocktail for the event.

The IWD Lancashire event will take place on Friday 6 March at the Boulevard Hotel in Blackpool. £1 from every Full Day ticket will be donated to BACKUP NW. Morning and Full Day tickets are available from Pink Link at www.pinklinkladies.co.uk or call 01253 425443.
