Snooker giants are set to swap their snooker cues for golf clubs in January, when they take part in a special Charity Golf Day, to raise money for the Paul Hunter Foundation.
Lancashire Business View is acting as media partner for the event. Organisers are now looking for eighteen teams of three people to take part, with a snooker professional making up each team to four. The cost to enter is £500 per team and there will also be an auction for teams to bid for the snooker pro they most want to make up their golf team of four. Spectators are also welcome; tickets are £5 if purchased advance via the website, or £10 on the day and will be limited to a maximum of five hundred.
Organiser, Tony Dobson, said; “We’ve organised the event on January 23 as it's the day before these top snooker players will be appearing in Blackpool. They all like a round of golf and so we thought it would be a novel idea to mix up the two sports to create a team sporting challenge where people get to play golf and meet their snooker heroes. We’re so grateful to the snooker pros and the Golf Club for giving their time so generously to raise money for this fantastic cause.
All proceeds from the charity golf day will go to the Paul Hunter Foundation which was established in 2006 in memory of Paul Hunter to give disadvantaged, able bodied and disabled youngsters an opportunity to play snooker.
