Both its commercial success and its reputation as a fan-friendly business that has donated more than £180,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support over the last 18 months, have earned the two founders roles at UCLan.
The leaders in residence honour is awarded to professionals who have made a significant contribution in their field of expertise. Ben and Richard will take up positions in the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries, and will make up part of an industry advisory board comprising of inspirational role models.Ben said: “I cannot wait to get started in my new role. Skiddle began life when I was a student at UCLan, so this appointment feels like a homecoming!
"I strongly believe this partnership is the beginning of a successful and prosperous relationship with our local university and Richard and I look forward to sharing our expertise with the next generation of creative and inspirational individuals here in Lancashire.” Comprising of five schools covering architecture, criminology, design, fashion, fine art, humanities, journalism, language, law, media, performance and social sciences; Ben and Richard will begin their work as leaders in residence by offering guest lectures, speaking at events and giving students the opportunity to intern at Skiddle.
