FWP has announced a raft of appointments across a range of disciplines as the group continues on its impressive growth journey.
The new arrivals at FWP’s Preston headquarters will undertake a wide variety of roles at the leading architecture, design and masterplanning practice and the group’s mechanical and electrical arm Blezard.
The latest appointments come as the award-winning multi-disciplinary group continues to see increasing work across all sectors.
FWP, which also has offices in Manchester and London, is involved in a host of multi-million-pound health, sports, leisure and cultural projects for a wide range of clients, including the NHS and local authorities.
Blezard also operates across all sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, education, retail, and sports and leisure, with extensive experience in healthcare and framework agreements.
Lauren Stewart has been appointed project manager at FWP. She arrives at FWP from a construction consultancy firm and has a Masters degree in quantity surveying, graduating from the University of Salford with a distinction.
Lauren said: “What struck me about FWP is its variety of work, from NHS to sports stadiums, and I want more exposure to those kinds of projects.
“I am excited to work with a multi-disciplinary team and to learn as much as I can from my colleagues. I am looking forward to continuing to work towards obtaining RICS chartership.”
Liam Curtis has arrived at FWP’s Ribblesdale Place office, in the heart of Preston’s business district, to take up the role of architectural technician.
He has almost a decade of experience, working for companies in the North West of England involved in residential projects, the care sector and the delivery of new fire stations in Greater Manchester.
Liam said: “I’m looking forward to collaborating and coordinating in house with other disciplines to deliver our projects as well as further developing my career. The company’s commitment to sustainability was also an attraction.”
Irshad Umarji joins FWP’s Quantity Surveying team. He began his career more than seven years ago, specialising in mechanical electrical (M&E) quantity surveying before moving into more general work.
Irshad said: “I believe my background in M&E can help the team on those elements of projects. I was attracted to FWP by the wide variety of projects and clients and the opportunity to expand my skills and experience.”
Joe Edmunds, who graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology degree, has been appointed junior technologist.
He said: “I am looking forward to working with all the experienced professionals at FWP and enhancing my skill set, transferring my academic knowledge into live construction projects.”
Nnamdi Uhiara has been appointed to the role of electrical engineer at Blezard, while Daniel Gordon takes up the role of junior services engineer.
David Robinson, managing director of FWP, said: “We pride ourselves as a business in the strength-in-depth we display in all our disciplines and our latest new arrivals will further add to that.
“Their appointments come as we continue to grow our portfolio of work not just in our native North West of England but across the country.
“We have built our reputation on delivering projects efficiently and cost-effectively. That’s the ethos that drives every member of our team. Their knowledge and commitment sit at the heart of everything we do.
“The opportunity to work on a wide range of projects also proves attractive when it comes to recruitment, we offer people great opportunities to build their knowledge and their skillsets.”
