Simon has also worked with household-name brands such as Bisto, Galaxy, Ambrosia and Mr Kipling, as well as several retailers’ own-label brands.
In his new role, Simon will focus on positioning the TrakRap system as the go-to option for end-of-line packaging for organisations in the FMCG sector.Established as an alternative to shrink wrapping, the TrakRap system is a unique secondary packaging process that uses a lightweight, 100 per cent recyclable polymer stretch-film to wrap products, enabling businesses to massively reduce their plastic consumption and deliver environmentally-friendly, lower cost and energy efficient transit and retail-ready packaging.
Simon said: “The TrakRap system for end-of-line packaging creates a tremendous opportunity for manufacturers to reduce plastic in the FMCG supply chain by around 70 per cent, while at the same time consuming nearly 90 per cent less power than conventional shrink-wrapping technology.“To have been invited to lead such an important development - which will have a significant impact on plastic and CO2 reduction in our industry - is a privilege and I am looking forward to helping manufacturers and retailers take an important step forward in meeting their environmental objectives.” Martin Leeming, CEO of TrakRap, said: “We’re thrilled to have added Simon to our growing team. He is a hugely experienced professional who knows our industry inside-out and I’m sure his customer service-led approach will open more doors for us and allow us to grow even faster.”
