Service Care Solutions has appointed Chris Musgrove, who joined the company as a trainee recruitment consultant in 2007, as its next managing director.
Chris takes over the day-to-day running of the company from founder Richard Freye, who becomes chairman.
Preston-based SCS supplies staff nationwide across a wide range of sectors. The company has been operating for 16 years and turned over £41.7m in 2019-2020.
Richard, who founded the business in 2005 with two phones and a corner desk in his back bedroom, says he had long known that Chris would be his successor.
He said: "After much thought and reflection, I feel that now is the right time to step away from my role as MD. I am incredibly fortunate to have found someone that I have total confidence in to take over the position – that person being Chris."
"Not too long after he started, having recognised his potential, I made Chris a promise that, one day, he would become the MD of Service Care Solutions. He has the knowledge, mindset, skills and emotional intelligence that will take SCS to the next level. It is truly a great moment in my life to be able to hand this role over to someone with such integrity and aptitude."
Chris added: "It is a real privilege to have been part of what we have achieved over the last 14 years. I owe both Service Care Solutions and Richard a tremendous amount and will be forever grateful for the opportunity I was given. It is an honour to pick up the mantle and continue this incredible journey."
SCS has also promoted Paul Bradley, head of division of the criminal justice department, and Jonathan Church, divisional director of the mental health division, to associate directors.
