Seriun’s IT engineer Joe Joinson joined them back in 2018 after he’d finished his apprenticeship with Stonehouse Logic. He’s since worked his way up the ranks to become 3rd line engineer earlier this year.
Joe moved to Manchester a couple of years ago and now mainly works out of Seriun’s Manchester office, which is great as he gets to spend more time on site with their city-based customers. They operate a very flexible working arrangement that allows their staff to enjoy a mix of working at either site or from home, so the Barrowford team enjoy Joe’s company at least once every week.
Joe began his IT career with a Level 4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship at Stonehouse Logic through training provider Intequal. In November 2018 he joined the Seriun team as service desk engineer, where he achieved Microsoft industry certifications including Microsoft 365 Identify and Services, Windows Server 2012 and Comp ITA Security+ and Network+. His hard work and dedication were rewarded with a promotion to senior service desk engineer in early 2021.
Continuing to work hard throughout 2021, Joe’s developing skills and knowledge were recognised earlier this year and he received another promotion to 3rd line engineer. His new role provides the opportunity to work on larger and more complex customer projects. He plans to continue to progress his career at Seriun by expanding his knowledge of networking and cloud solutions through the completion of various Microsoft 365 and Azure exams.
Joe commented: “I’m really pleased with how quickly I’m developing at Seriun and now that I’m 3rd line it’s great to be working on more complex issues. Big thanks to all the 3rd line and project teams for helping me in the move to my new role and huge thanks to Seriun for the opportunities they’ve given me to advance my career!’
Mark Edwards, operations director of Seriun, said: “Our people are our biggest asset and we really believe in looking after them and keeping them happy. We have always had excellent benefits, an unrivalled rewards program, and personal development plan for each member of the team. We recognise and reward outstanding performance like Joe’s, and of course always prefer to promote from within.”
