Lancaster-based Charter Solutions is holding its fifth Lancashire Investment Panel to provide ambitious businesses in Lancashire with the opportunity to pitch on 20th January at Charter’s offices on Castle Hill.
The consultancy is again partnering with Enterprise Ventures, one of the region’s leading providers of venture capital and private equity, to promote growth in Lancashire.
The Panel, which will comprise savvy business advisors, investment managers and high net worth individuals, will help with both funds and advice.
Charter’s managing director Trevor Bargh will chair the Investment Panel in January. Having run his own business for more than 20 years, Trevor has a vast amount of business experience. He outlines ‘the shape’ of businesses the panel is seeking to attract.
“We are looking for unrealised potential – so businesses who are already trading and have passed first base,” he said.
“They should have a scaleable product and business model, credibility, a clear understanding of their market and a good prospect of growth.
“We are looking for businesses seeking early stage investment, who have monthly revenues – although they do not have to be profitable at this stage - and good quality management teams with the breadth of skills to grow the company quickly.”
Applicants are asked to submit their outline plans before the event takes place. On the day they will be expected to make a short pitch to the panel of experts.
There will be a question and answer session and all applicants will be given constructive feedback and advice on how to progress.
The initiative has so far received an extremely positive response from professional intermediaries who will nominate and encourage clients to be involved.
Richard Bamford, Enterprise Ventures Executive chairman, added: “This will bring regional expertise and funding together to help businesses realise their ambitions and unlock their potential.”
Applications are now being accepted on the Charter Solutions website for businesses willing to take part.
Those wishing to be considered for the event must register at www.chartersolutions.co.uk before January 7th 2011. Several businesses have already expressed interest.
