Foodie experts from the Seafood Pub Company teamed up with Nelson and Colne College to take part in Seafood Week celebrations at the popular Farringtons Restaurant.
Antony Shirley, the group’s executive chef, and Chris Neve, supplier of seafood, presented a special demo evening for guests, including canapes and a drink on arrival.“We’re delighted to be involved in Seafood Week; educating and training young people is something we feel particularly passionate about,” said Antony.
“Working in partnership with the college throughout the year is a great opportunity to do this, and events such as Seafood Week allow us to showcase what we do and how well we do it.“The demo evening was a great chance to discuss our amazing fish produce, inviting diners at the restaurant to get involved and play their part in the celebrations.”
Throughout the week, the Seafood Pub Company took over the Farringtons Restaurant, inviting diners to book a table and sample its tasty menu. Dishes included the company’s popular fish pie, salmon teriyaki with wok fried Asian greens, jasmine rice, soy and ginger and coconut cheesecake with mango jelly, rum and lime syrup to name a few.Chef lecturer, Mark Taft, said: “We are committed to ensuring each of our students are given a diverse array of opportunities to prepare them for the fast-paced, yet rewarding, nature of the Catering industry. Events like Seafood Week see our students gaining real life experience, offering a fine dining experience to paying customers, and learning from top chefs.
