Whilst investing in our working fleet and looking towards the future has always been a core aspect of our philosophy here at Fagan & Whalley, we also believe that it’s essential to reflect on our past and keep an eye on where we’ve come from.
With this in mind, we’d like to introduce the latest addition to our heritage collection, our restored Scania 4 Series Topline.
Originally added to our fleet back in 2003, the 124L-420 engine truck was retired in September 2014 and had been kept in storage until our maintenance team got to work on its restoration in 2019.
“Having taken three years for our maintenance team to complete the work due to delays with COVID-19, the finished product is one that we are proud of and are excited to add to our heritage collection,” says Daniel Wood, operations strategy manager at F&W.
“For us, the vehicle reflects the working era of the early twenty-first century, which was a real period of expansion and growth for Fagan & Whalley as a company. It’s an important part of our philosophy that we take the time to appreciate our heritage and where we’ve come from, which is why we’re all thrilled with the restoration of this classic truck.
“We’ve not held back from getting the vehicle back out and onto the road, having attended its first Truckfest show at the West Midlands & Wales Truckfest event in early July, alongside various other more local truck shows - whereby the reception has been great.
“The vehicle is a credit to the fantastic work of our maintenance team, and we look forward to showcasing it at future shows and events, too!”
What is our heritage collection?
The Fagan & Whalley Heritage Collection is an assortment of our restored trucks that are no longer in use but represent a crucial and important part of our history and culture. Whilst they may not have a driver nor be on the road on a daily basis, this collection serves to commemorate key parts of the Fagan & Whalley story. They are also popular at truck shows and events!
