The Broughton-based Santé Group has acquired the assets of comparison website Healthplan.co.uk out of receivership for an undisclosed sum.
The website was launched in 2020 and currently generates more than 3,000 consumer and SME enquiries per month, equating to an average sales total of £800,000 per annum.
However, in late 2022 the company which ran the site fell into financial difficulties and went into administration.
The site has now been acquired by Sante Partners, which provides appointed representatives with tools and infrastructure to grow their insurance brokerages. The company joined the group in 2021.
Sante Partners' managing director, Adam Sherring, said: "Acquiring the Healthplan.co.uk website will help us accelerate our growth plans and provide our network of private medical insurance brokers with a rich pipeline of work.
"From the outset, our business has been focussed on providing a unique "brokerage in a box" proposition which takes care of everything from access to new products, compliance to business and marketing support, and delivering a mentoring service. The addition of the Healthplan website enhances our service offering by putting us in a strong position to generate additional sales for our network."
Paul Nugent, Santé Group's chief executive, added: "Sante Partners' growth has exceeded our initial expectations, and the Healthplan website acquisition will add a significant income stream for the Group and our broker network.
"It's a perfect fit for us, and we'll continue to look for other opportunities such as this to build the Group so we can provide a 360 service offering."
