Chorley-based Rowan Executive Search has announced three new appointments and launched new services to support high-growth businesses.
A new advisory team has been created to offer support to businesses in optimising the performance of leadership teams. The new suite of services has been launched following investment by professional services and software developer LCap (Leadership Capital).
LCap created its leadership tools by working with experts across data science, psychology and leadership, including Adrian Furnham, one of the world's leading psychometricians who specialises in the behaviour of leaders.
Rowan has access to The LCap Group’s digital analytics products, enabling it to provide insights as to how the physical experiences and capabilities of a company’s leadership team can support them in their ability to achieve their current performance objective. These insights include both leadership development as well an understanding of the least amount of management change a team could go through to deliver maximum impact.
Paul Waite and Johnathan Massey are heading up Rowan’s newly-created leadership advisory team as the company rolls out the capability across its North West client base.
Johnathan said: "A report in 2020 by global management consulting firm Bain cited leadership quality as the single most important reason for business success and the second most important reason for why companies were not successful.
"We know that, as businesses develop, the challenges change and so do the demands on the leadership team. In some circumstances the leadership team needs to operate differently with each other, in other instances new skills and experiences are required, but in all instances the leadership team need to operate effectively at all times.
“Our new leadership advisory offering is a logical extension to the services we already offer, and we have received some very positive feedback from clients."
Rowan has also announced three appointments to its wider business. Tammy Hopla has joined as an associate director, Jack Bottomley as a senior consultant and Emma Milton as an executive researcher.
Tammy is a qualified accountant and has joined Rowan from Beautiful Drinks, where she was finance director for its restaurant group. She previously held senior finance roles at companies including Kiddicare, Mothercare and TUI.
At Rowan she is working with private equity houses seeking to appoint senior finance staff to their portfolio companies, as well as matching board-level finance professionals to SME owners and founders to fuel growth.
Jack has joined Rowan’s HR and operations practice, which is part of Rowan’s private capital team that is led by Louise Ellis. He joined Wincanton as a graduate trainee in an operations role and progressed to managerial positions before moving to THG in a management capacity.
His role at Rowan sees him working with SME clients to match and appoint senior executives to drive business growth from an operational perspective.
Emma has a master’s degree in forensic psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University and has joined Rowan’s private capital team in a research role.
The appointments follow a strong period of growth for Rowan, which achieved record revenues of £3.2m in 2021 and started 2022 with its best-ever quarter, putting the company on track for revenues of £4.5m.
Paul Waite, founder and managing director of Rowan, said: “These new roles have been created to meet growing demand for our services and demonstrate our commitment to our values-based internal recruitment policy.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tammy, Jack and Emma to our expanding team and, having had our best-ever quarter at the start of this year, we continue to look to strengthen the business at all levels."
