The Rocket Centre, Lancashire’s largest motorcycle dealership, will be hosting road-racing favourite Ian Hutchinson on the 29th of October, as he launches his brand new book at their prestigious Blackburn-based showroom.
The record-breaking, three-time Isle of Man TT winner is one of road-racing’s favourite personalities, and proved to be a huge hit when the Rocket Centre held its Summer Open Day, back on the 30th of July.Ross Walker, managing director of the Rocket Centre, said: “Fans travelled far and wide to meet Hutchy at our Summer Open Day, and after the event, people couldn’t stop talking about how nice he was. He really is one of the most unassuming, down-to-earth chaps you could wish to meet, and we’re absolutely delighted to welcome him back to the Rocket Centre for his book launch.”
So much more than a book about motorsport, Ian’s autobiography chronicles the highs of his spectacular professional success, through to the personal lows of almost losing a leg - and documents the inspirational journey of his triumphant return.Having achieved a record-breaking five wins at the Isle of Man TT festival, and a stunning victory in the Supersport class at the North West 200 in Northern Ireland, 2010 was proving to be a marquee year for Ian. But in the September of that year, disaster struck when Ian was involved in a horror crash at a BSB Supersport race at Silverstone, where he was hit by two bikes.
Affectionately known as ‘Hutchy’ to his many thousands of loyal fans, the book tells the tale of one of the greatest comebacks in the history motorcycle racing, as his amazing tenacity and unbelievable courage culminate in achieving his dream of winning a hat-trick of TT victories.Entitled, Hutchy: Miracle Man, the book released online on the 17th of October, and is also available at The Rocket Centre.
Ross added “This really is a unique opportunity to spend some time with a brilliant rider and meet an extraordinarily brave man. With Christmas coming up, it’s a great opportunity to grab a copy of the book in-store, get it signed, and surprise the superbike fan in your life with a truly inspirational gift.” The event kicks off at 10am next Saturday, the 29th of October, through ‘til 4pm, at The Rocket Centre, on Trident Park in Blackburn.Enjoyed this?
