R&G Fluid Power acquired in £100m deal

Preston-based R&G Fluid Power, a group of companies specialising in industrial, hydraulic and pneumatic products, has been acquired by international distribution group Diploma.

R&G manufactures items such as industrial hoses and couplings, hydraulics, gaskets and related sealings, and pneumatics for industries including chemical and petrochemical, power generation, food, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.

The company itself has been on the acquisition trail, bringing in Lancashire Hose & Fittings, Hydraulic & Offshore Supplies Ltd and Rubberlast Group Ltd in 2022.

Diploma says the addition of R&G is part of its ongoing growth strategy and boosts its seals division in particular.

The company said: "We are also excited by the broadening of the seals product capability, in line with our strategy to expand addressable markets through product extension, with the potential to take this to other markets in the future. An active pipeline also positions R&G well to continue to deliver on acquisition growth."

R&G will retain its management team following the deal.
