John Macadam and Son, which has six depots based across the North West and is celebrating 50 years in business this year, has appointed Stephen Boardman, (52) from Cleveleys as operations manager across the whole business.

Stephen is no stranger to the motor industry, having started out as an apprentice mechanic on leaving school; he has since worked for big name brands such as the AA and Halfords garage, enjoying managerial positions.Alistair Macadam, director at John Macadam and Son said: “Stephen’s experience and knowledge of the industry is second to none and we’re really excited to have him on the team.
“He is based at our Morecambe depot, but will be overseeing operations across the whole company.”John Macadam and Son was founded in 1966 by owner John ‘Doug’ Macadam, who has grown the company from a one man band, to the popular and valued business it is today. The Morecambe depot came under the Macadam brand, originally based at Carnforth, so the company could cover contractual work. Once suitable premises became available, the depot was relocated to Morecambe in 2011. Stephen added: “Everyone at the Morecambe depot has been extremely welcoming and friendly; there’s a relaxed yet professional environment and I’m looking forward to the future.”
