The Red Rose Awards has invited the Community Foundation for Lancashire to be its charity partner for a second time after raising more than £80,000 together in 2021.
And this year the organisation will be even more involved, taking on sponsorship of the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
The foundation helps businesses of all sizes to engage in meaningful, sustainable and effective charitable giving in Lancashire and has distributed more than £16m to charities and community projects since its launch in 2007.
Community Foundation for Lancashire has previously been involved with Red Rose Awards and the organiser of the event, Lancashire Business View, on various projects over the years. In 2021, the organisation was selected as the awards’ main charity partner.
Fundraising throughout the Red Rose Awards campaign and collections on the night saw more than £80,000 raised which will support a wide variety of projects, including funding for community groups, care for people living with disabilities and mental health stuggles, and support for people who were impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year, the foundation will be even more visible as a sponsor of the Corporate Social Responsibility category. This is the hotly-contested award that recognises businesses who go above and beyond in support of their employees, peers and community.
Karen Morris, development director of the Foundation, said: “As an organisation with both a passion to see Lancashire’s business community thriving and a focus on charitable giving that has maximum impact in our local communities, the Community Foundation for Lancashire is delighted to be sponsoring the Corporate Social Responsibility category at this year’s Red Rose Awards.
“We enjoy a great relationship with event organisers Lancashire Business View and are excited to be a part of what promises to be a fabulous occasion celebrating excellence in Lancashire’s business sector.”
Stephen Bolton of the Red Rose Awards said: “We’re pleased to be working with the Community Foundation for Lancashire again after last year’s partnership proved so successful.
“What’s great about this organisation is that their support covers a wide range of groups and issues meaning that by supporting them we are able to have a positive impact right throughout the county.”
The nominations for this year’s awards are now closed and the shortlisted companies, which can be found here, now have one last chance to present their best case at a special judging event across April 27 and 28. The winners of the Red Rose Awards will be unveiled at a one-of-a-kind black tie celebration at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on June 9.
