Redwoods Dowling Kerr is pleased to announce the sale of Buttercup Barn Day Nursery, acquired by experienced operators.
Buttercup Barn Day Nursery was founded in 2009 by Lucy and Simon Farr and is a renowned local business in the village of Newton St Loe, Bath. The nursery is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has a team of dedicated early-years practitioners who are passionate about their work.
The nursery has capacity for 42 children and provides high quality childcare for children from 3 months up to 5 years of age. The nursery operates between 8am and 6pm on weekdays for 51 weeks of the year.
The nursery is a well-built structure in the West Country that has good travel links, with the A4 Globe roundabout nearby. The nursery also achieved a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted in 2016, reflecting the high quality care provided.
The owners were looking to sell due to their interest in holiday lets. As Redwoods Dowling Kerr is recognised as the UK’s leading childcare broker, they were instructed in the process of the sale. They received high amounts of interest in the nursery, with 8 viewings and 4 offers, before selling to Mrs & Mr Westwell for above asking price.
Mrs and Mrs Westwell are experienced operators, owning another nursery in Radstock. They were attracted to the sale due to the proximity to their other business and were presented an excellent opportunity to expand.
Upon completion, Mrs Lucy and Mr Simon Farr said: “Thank you Redwoods Dowling Kerr for your continued drive and support during our nursery sale process. We find your service invaluable to us and we know you would help us to achieve completion on our sale as planned.
“It has been a difficult time at the moment however our nursery is in a strong position for our buyers to continue to grow it further”.
Speaking after the sale, senior sales negotiator Sarah Ellison said: “It has been a pleasure working with Lucy and Simon to get them through to a successful completion.
“A very strong seller relation was held with the client, which has resulted in achieving us a successful completion in the end and we achieved above the asking price even during the current climate.”
