Lancashire’s award-winning Stanley House Hotel, in Mellor, has unveiled the newest addition in its ongoing development with the opening of a new restaurant, Grill on the Hill.
The restaurant’s grill-led menu brings together an eclectic mix of great British favourites alongside traditional French Classics. Steaks are served alongside classic dishes of Lobster Thermador and Tournedos Rossini.
Grill on the Hill’s menu has been spearheaded by head chef Andrew Parker, previously of Harvey Nichols’ Bar and Brasserie in Manchester, bringing a wide variety of dishes. It features an extensive choice of starters, including eggs Benedict and soufflé, and traditional deserts such as Tart Tatin, chocolate fondant and homemade truffle.
A new wine list has been introduced, which has been commissioned by Corney and Barrow, royal warrant holders for the Queen of England and Prince of Wales. The addition of a new, hand-made bar boasts a range of Continental beers, complemented by Frobisher natural fruit juices, enabling diners to enjoy both pre and post dinner drinks.
Speaking on the ethos behind Grill on the Hill, Andrew Parker said: “We wanted to create a restaurant that harnessed the great meat and crops we have on our doorstep.
“We have developed a menu that is both classic and contemporary in style, enabling us to cater for all palates. Enjoying good food and wine need not be limited to special occasions and Grill on the Hill offers great value all year round.
“Grill on the Hill brings unashamedly simple food, delivered by a talented team, served in the stylish surroundings Stanley House is renowned for.”
The launch of Grill on the Hill is just one of many developments at the Mellor hotel in recent months. In March this year, Stanley House started its multi-million pound construction of 18 new bedrooms and a luxury spa, ready to be opened in Spring 2012.
Philip Wharton, Stanley House Hotel general manager, added: “The Stanley House Hotel business model is constantly evolving and we have launched Grill on the Hill to complement these changes.
“We’re very excited about the launch of the new restaurant, which brings a new dimension to the food offering at Stanley House and paves the way for the next phase in our development with the opening of our luxury spa next year.
“We’re firmly committed to making Stanley House a true leisure destination for the North.”
