BBC Radio 2’s drivetime broadcaster Nigel Barden and hotelier Janet Simpson have cooked up an evening extravaganza of foodie fun to raise funds for flood-hit businesses and residents in Whalley and Billington.
The event will take place on April 29 at Gibbon Bridge Hotel with proceeds going to the Whalley and District Lions Flood Appeal.
After dinner speaker Nigel will entertain guests with tales from his busy life as a food writer and broadcaster and his role as chairman of judges for the Great Taste Awards, Farm Shop and Deli Awards, World Cheese Awards and a keen advocate of British ingredients and artisan producers.
Whalley and District Lions are giving grants of up to £500 which are being awarded to people who have lost the essential items needed to live safely and comfortably, but much more help is needed so fund-raising is set to continue throughout the year.
