Working with our Business Development Team at Blackburn College, you can upskill and develop your workforce through a variety of training and development options from apprenticeships, professional qualifications and tailor-made bespoke courses. These can be approved with compliance and procurement bodies or through a tender process.
Being rated Good by Ofsted for apprenticeships, and having trained people all over Lancashire since 1888, means we deliver high quality apprenticeships to those who work in the following areas of the public sector, which will support your target of 2.3 per cent apprentices across your business:
- Business Administration
- Finance and Accounting
- Team Leading and Management
- Human Resources
- Procurement
- Early Years, Childcare and Education
- Healthcare
- Housing
- Construction Trades
We have previously worked and have a great track record with employers in East Lancashire, wider Lancashire and beyond.
We recently worked with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council in developing a Higher Education certificate for the Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship.
Other employers include Lancashire Constabulary, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Ribble Valley Borough Council, Lancaster University and Sefton Council.
In terms of Continuous Professional Development, your colleagues and employees can upskill online and from the comfort of their own device with over 120 E-Learning courses.
There is also the opportunity for us to create training activities specifically designed for your organisation through our bespoke training programme and we have trained countless individuals through our professional qualifications including CIPS, CILEx, ILM and CIPD.
In addition, Blackburn College has legislative training opportunities across First Aid, GAS and Health and Safety.
As a public sector body, you may be required to work with suppliers that have been approved for the delivery of services and/or products. We use Approved Framework Agreements and Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS) for apprenticeships, professional qualifications or other bespoke training requirements.
