Property Shop, the popular local estate agent with branches in Accrington and Burnley, have a great record of giving back to the communities they live and work in, throughout its 20-year history. Recently they got involved to ensure Green Haworth Primary School, a nearly 200-year-old school high on the hills above Accrington, has kitchen facilities fit for the modern age.
Green Haworth is a rural village school with a capacity of just 84, and their unique building also incorporates St. Clement's Parish Church. Their hilltop location often leads to weather damage, and this led head teacher Mr Turner to get together with their pupil's School Council and generate ideas in which they could get help with various areas that needed repairing and replacing, including their outdoor play areas.
Duncan Worthington, maintenance director at Property Shop, whose son is on the school council, was happy to step in to update their kitchen area and bring it up to modern standards. With a donated kitchen from Howdens, he installed an entire new kitchen, tiling and accessories, to give them a brand new, modern area fit for purpose.
Paul Sutton, sales director of Property Shop, called in to see the new kitchen when it was completed. He commented, "We were really pleased to sponsor the new kitchen installation for Green Haworth School. We're delighted to be able to help out, and hope they have many happy years using it!"
Molly, of Green Haworth School Council, added: "On behalf of myself, Paisley and Cameron of the School Council, thank you Property Shop for putting the new kitchen into school!"
