Backed by the city council, Lancashire County Council and the University of Central Lancashire, the prospectus has been designed to outline the development opportunities in the city centre and highlight Preston’s key assets.
The document covers the area which was set to become the Tithebarn development until plans were scrapped last year. John Lewis had been set to spearhead the retail development, but later withdrew.
Key areas championed include the city centre, the civic core, Fishergate central, Horrockses Quarter, Market Quarter St John’s and Bus Station, new central business district and Winckley Square.
Jim Carter, chairman of Preston Vision and deputy chairman of Eric Wright Group, said: “Private sector investment is essential if the potential of Preston is to be fully realised over the coming years.
“The city and county councils are demonstrating a new resolve to collaborate and address the current challenging market conditions. There is a wide range of opportunities and the city centre is open for business. We look forward to helping you deliver your plans.”
